We are incredibly fortunate to have cruised Georgia J over the past six months.    While we feel that we were well prepared, there have been some surprises along the way.  As bean counters, we have compiled the following:

Distance traveled- roughly 2,000 Nautical Miles

Where we spent our nights:

In Marinas

At Anchor

Travel on land (Copper Canyon, Costa Rica and North Carolina

Traveling overnight at sea

37%

43%

13%

8% (13 overnight trips)

Percentage of days involving boat maintenance (anywhere between 1 and 10 hours per day) on the boat-  51%

Days spent at sea-  37

Number of unaccounted for days during the trip- 9

Number of whale and dolphin sightings-  too numerous to count

Number of times the engine died- 5

Number of times the generator died- 5

Number of times the water maker died- 3 (the machine has been permanently retired).

Number of encounters with rude or obnoxious locals- 2

Number of nights we locked our outside door- 0

Number of turista cases on board- 2

Number of scorpions found on the boat- 2

Despite more maintenance problems than we would have preferred, the trip has been very successful. Undoubtedly, this has been the most memorable adventure of our lives.

Fair winds and following seas,
